Ganpati Bappa Morya!

It is that time of the year again! Ganpati Bappa has paid His yearly visit to his devotees. The next ten days to come shall see joyous revelry all around.

Ganpati Puja at my place is relatively a low-key afair. The Puja was done in the morning today, and we'll bid farewell to the almighty tomorrow evening. In all, a 36-hour affair! We are Kokanasthas, you see... We believe in being practical and hence we like to keep things simple and without all the frills! :) In fact, Ganpati Puja at my place is over and done with, long before the social spirit of the festival sets in!

The coming month seems to be an absolute delight for the food connoisseur. I immensely enjoyed hogging down Puran Polis a few weeks ago. Today I feasted on Modaks. Moreover, the Muslim month of Ramzan started yesterday. Ramzan for me, is synonymous with going to Mominpura in the evenings to feast on the yummiest Chicken Tikka and Shami Kababs! Damn.. I'm suddenly feeling very very hungry!!

It makes me realize how *lucky* I am to still be in Nagpur. At least I have been able to enjoy all the festivities for one last time!
